Achieving perfection isn’t easy, it’s something that we all strive for but seldom ever get close to. There is one expectation though playing on a successful team can give you a chance at the most elusive of accolades, a perfect record . . . the illusive undefeated season. Julius Campbell (Remember The Titans) said it best when addressing his teammates – ‘I’m not perfect and I ain’t never going to be, none of us are but we have won every game that we’ve played until now. So, this team is perfect.’
Bearing this in mind, Viper 10 could not be prouder of our local partners Bournemouth Rugby, as their First XV are currently perfect in the South West Premier division, with 8 wins from 8. That’s a 100% win rate, pure numerical perfection.
The season started in idyllic fashion as Bournemouth Rugby travelled to league newcomers, Old Patesians and recorded a dominant 50-0 victory, impressively denying the home side a single point. Since the season opener, the Lions have decimated everything that has stood in their way.
As well as securing top spot in the league table, Bournemouth Rugby also boast the best points difference (240), leading the way in points scored (330) and points conceded (90).
Everyone involved at the club is understandably overjoyed and we’re confident that they won’t suffer from complacency, as the pressure will undoubtedly continue to mount as the unbeaten streak grows.
The Viper 10 team would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone involved with Bournemouth Rugby Club the best of luck for this weekend’s game against Exeter University. This one promises to be a monumental clash so if you’re free this Saturday then why not get down to Chapel Gate (2:30pm Kick-off) and support the Lions.
