Viper 10 Sportswear could not be happier to be confirmed as the Official Sportswear Partner of Solent University.
Award winning teaching, personalised support and industry-led curriculums are only part of what this exemplary institution of higher education offers its students. Solent University’s campus is located in the heart of Southampton city centre, ensuring that all facets of university of life can be explored and enjoyed to the maximum level.
The most exciting addition to Solent University’s growing campus offer, (in our sport focused opinion) has to be the incoming Solent Sports Complex, which is now open.
The brand new £28m complex will enable the University to excel even further in terms of sport, health, and fitness-related degree programmes, as well associated teaching and research.
Solent Sports Complex includes two sports halls; two fitness studios and an indoor cycling studio – offering a range of classes; a multi-purpose gym, open to the general public; a high performance gym for athlete students and commercial partners; and a teaching gym, to support undergraduate teaching for relevant courses. The complex also includes a sports and exercise therapy clinical space.
Matt Bishop, Head of Sports Programmes commented:
“We’re looking forward to working closely with Viper 10 and are excited about some of the current design concepts they’re putting forward for the 2019/2020 season. We’ve carried out a robust tender for this essential teamwear contract and Viper 10 stood out from the pack and provided an excellent package which all staff and students agreed on. This new partnership will no doubt be a benefit to our department and teams moving forward and we can’t wait to get started.”
The partnership will see Viper 10 provide bespoke teamwear to Solent’s arsenal of sports teams, including the Team Solent Kestrels, the university’s largest sports club that is rapidly becoming one of the largest basketball clubs in the UK. In fact, Team Solent Kestrels recently became the first club in Basketball England history to have two teams (men’s and women’s) in the National Cup Finals in the same year.
The club proudly boasts multiple Men’s and Women’s teams, as well as various youth teams, truly epitomising the strong community ethos that the program was founded on.
There is one problem with this new partnership though . . . The Viper 10 team doesn’t know who to cheer for when Varsity rolls around and Solent University take on our other favourite University partner and their rivals, Bournemouth University!
